PROCEDURE FOR THE CONDUCT OF QUALIFYING TRIALS
|
Each Qualifying trial meeting will be divided into two sections. For example, In the case of 32 heats, 2 groups of 16.
Where possible each trainer will be required to have a separate handler or attendant for each greyhound.
All greyhounds will be weighed and identified within the timeframe nominated for their group.
Any greyhound that is not presented for weighing and identified by the specified time will be scratched.
The weight of all greyhounds will be recorded on an official weight sheet and on the greyhounds weight card. This weight recorded will be the greyhound's new racing weight.
All greyhounds will be identified at the start immediately prior to being placed in the boxes.
Any greyhound presented at the boxes with brands and markings not consistent with the registration papers will be scratched.
Security of the greyhound will be the responsibility of the trainer.
Random balloting procedure for swabbing will apply.
The track will be graded at the discretion of the Stewards.
ORDER OF PROGRAMME FOR QUALIFYING TRIALS
Weighing and Identification Times
Maidens: To be weighed and identified between 5.30pm and 6.15pm.
5th grade: To be weighed and identified between 6.15pm and 6.45pm.
After being weighed and identified all greyhounds in the group will be directed to a general marshalling area.
Trainers will be notified by group (by way of loudspeaker) to assemble in a different marshalling area where they will be allocated rugs and directed to the starting boxes.
Registration papers must be produced at the starting boxes prior to the Qualifying trial.
Each greyhound will be identified immediately prior to being placed in the boxes.
The handler of the winning greyhound will be required to be present for the random balloting procedure.
Once any greyhound, not required for swabbing, has completed its trial, it will be clear to leave the course.
